The doctors of Greater Austin Orthopaedic are all board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. They are dedicated to keeping the goals and needs of the patient in mind in treating their orthopedic problems. In addition, Dr. Stephen Rose, M.D. was recently honored with Most Valuable Physician Award from St. David's South Austin Medical Center.
The doctors of GAO, including Gordon Marshall, M.D., Dean Chen, M.D., Stephen Rose, M.D., and Todd Smith, M.D. are board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. They are dedicated to keeping the goals and needs of the patient in mind in treating their orthopedic problems.
Gordon Marshall, M.D. has been in practice for over 15 years, with a specialty interest in disorders of the spine. These include traumatic and degenerative injuries of the neck and back. Proven surgical and nonsurgical treatments as well as the most up to date technologies in management of spine disorders are utilized.
Dean Chen, M.D. has been practicing in Austin since 1999, and has a sub-specialty certification in sports medicine. Injuries of the extremities ranging from traumatic or sports related injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, or ankle are all common problems that are seen.
Stephen Rose, M.D. is board certified orthopaedic and hand surgeon who has extensive training in extremity injuries during his 13 years of service in the United States Army. He also served as the chief of hand surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center.
Todd Smith, M.D.is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and disorders of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle. He has served as a team physician at the University of Miami and University of Kansas. He has also worked extensively with high school athletes.
